Eligibility requirements

Medical Massage services are not open for general booking. They require a formal medical referral for treatment.

✔ Currently Accepted Referrals

We ONLY accept:

• VA Community Care Network (VA CCN) Referrals

This applies to all medical massage treatment, assessments, and follow-up sessions.

✘ Referrals We Do NOT Accept

We do not accept:

Private insurance

Medicare

Medicaid

Tricare

Worker's compensation

Auto accident or attorney claims

Out-of-network/third-party medical billing

Doctor’s notes without VA authorization

If you do not have a VA CCN referral, you may still book non-medical massage services privately.

How to obtain a va community care referral

If you are a veteran and receiving care through the VA:

Contact your VA primary care provider.

Request a referral for Medical Massage Therapy.

Your VA provider submits the request to Community Care.

Once approved, the VA sends you and the clinic the official referral authorization.

You can begin scheduling your appointments.

If you need help requesting or navigating a referral, we will assist you step-by-step.

Important policies

1. No Referral = No Treatment

Medical massage sessions cannot be performed without an active referral. Private pay cannot replace a referral for medical massage.

2. Expired Referrals

Once your referral expires, treatment must stop until a renewal is submitted and approved.

3. Approved Regions Only

Treatment is limited to the areas listed on your VA referral. For example: If your referral covers “cervical/shoulders,” we cannot treat “low back/hips.”

4. Missed Appointments

If you no-show or cancel late, your approved visit is considered “used” per VA Community Care policy.

5. Re-Assessment

If medically indicated, follow-up ROM testing, goniometer measurements, or progress documentation may be required to continue care.
